Diana Gilbert, Educational Psychologist serving Modesto, Turlock & surrounding areas

Licensed Educational Psychologist

For more than 20 years, I have worked inside schools across the Central Valley, as an instructional assistant, interpreter, clerical staff member, and later as a school psychologist. That wide range of experience means you benefit from someone who deeply understands the benefits and limitations of the school system.

Based in Turlock, I now serve families throughout Stanislaus, San Joaquin, and Merced counties by providing:

Psychoeducational assessments to uncover, diagnose, and recommend supports for things like ADHD, Autism, anxiety, learning or intellectual disabilities.
Neurodiversity-affirming counseling so your child feels understood and has the tools to manage challenges that come their way.
How I Help Children Learn and Grow

support in english or spanish

Every family deserves to fully understand their child’s needs and the steps ahead. As a bilingual psychologist (Spanish/English), I make sure language is never a barrier to getting clear answers, having your questions heard, or feeling included in the process.
Smiling family of four receiving bilingual educational psychologist support in English and Spanish.
Happy boy reading a book, demonstrating engagement following educational psychologist support.

why work with a licensed educational psychologist?

As a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP), my work focuses on understanding how children learn, process information, and experience the world around them.
Training in both psychology and education means I look at the whole picture, a child’s strengths, challenges, and environment, to diagnose (where applicable) and provide practical recommendations for both home and school.
My role is to translate complex information into clear next steps so you feel confident about what to do moving forward.

areas of specialization

Every child has unique strengths and challenges. Evaluations are designed to uncover what may be getting in the way of learning or daily life, and to provide clear recommendations for support. Some of the most common areas assessed include:

Differences in connecting with others, communication styles, and patterns of behavior

Anxiety

Worries or emotional stress that interfere with school, friendships, or routines

Dyslexia

Ongoing struggles with reading accuracy, fluency, or understanding text

Dysgraphia

Challenges with handwriting, spelling, or clearly expressing thoughts in writing
